Q: expereincing severs migraine.Started with a burning sensation in the back lobes...

Includes electris shock like pains, heaviness, cold shivers, numbness, sensitive ears n eyes, dizziness, nausea.

Me heatbeats are also amplified. with each release of the heart pushing the blood through my body, it feels as if everything in my head gets squashed together and are about to explode. The ,ost severs areas are the back lobes and my left hemisphere. However, a bandlike pain also appears. I have taken (not all at once) Tramacet, Celebrex, Mypaid, Lyrica, Arcoxia, Synap Forte,Betagesic, Spasmed, in combination with Metocloperamide. None has brought any relief. I've seen a Neorologist, prescribed Topamax with Mypaid but still no pain relief

Hi Lady-Z,

I'd really like to help you with an answer to your question, but can't, because it cannot be adequately answered online. A diagnosis can only be provided by a doctor who can review your medical history, your family's medical history, discuss your symptoms, and conduct a complete exam in person.

Now, having said that, I can give you some information you can share with your doctor.  It sounds like you have tried quite a few medications, but I wonder how long you were taking them? See here's the thing - it can take up to three months (Surprised ) to see a reduction in Migraine frequency and severity when we start new medications. During this period, any unwanted potential side effects may lessen too, so if we don't give each medication a fair trial, we'll never know if it would have worked. Does that make sense? And unfortunately it can take a while to find the right combinations of medications to work, but don't give up because there are over 100 of them used for Migraine prevention. Take a look at Migraine Preventive Medications - Too Many Options To Give Up!

If your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

I hope this helps,

Nancy

Thank You Nancy. I will definitely have a look at the listings you've suggested. At least the migraine has eased down a bit (after 6 days of inactivity). Will keep you posted on what works in the long run. Good to know I shouldn't expect instant pain relief in future
