Q: Is there no definite cure to migraines ?? or is "Treatment to reduce frequency" the best option ??

Every website I have visited to learn more about migraines have only mentioned the treatment of migraines with a view of merely reducing the frequency of the headaches and the other symptoms.

Can a person not be cured completely of this ??

If not a cure exists, does the age of the person play a role in reducing headaches to a complete minimal ??

Migraine is a genetic neurological disease for which, at this time, there is no cure.

Some people have fewer Migraines as they get older, but there's no way to tell whose will be fewer, whose will be more frequent, and whose won't change in frequency.

I have never heard of a cure. I haven't been expecting one either...just hoping to find something to help manage them. I don't think there will be a cure until doctors and scientists understand migraines better. The why and how of a migraine are still kinda unsolved. My mother says that her migraines greatly decreased after she had me (oh awesome...cause I'm 21 and that won't be happening anytime soon) But she still gets them from time to time.

Hanzos-

I feel your pain ... it is frustrating that there isnt really a "cure.." BUT there are SO MANY options available to you -- depending on your frequency, the triggers, and MOST importantly -- WHAT KIND of MIGRAINES! Some can be reduced more easily than others.  With MINE, since they are daily and 24 hours every day, I am BOTH reducigin the pain with medicine -- AND seeking treatments and procedures to reduce the frequency.  A Combination of both in my opinion and i have been dealing with this for 8 years.  The bottom line is if nothing you are doing is helping with the migraines, then find someone to treat the PAIN ... since living with it just plain hurts.  I am happy to help if you want to post more information about your situation ... Be Blessed and Good Luck ...
