Kathy,

Here are a few things to try...

1) Keep the same sleep routine on weekends as during the week. Get up and go to bed at the same time, regardless of weekends and holidays.

2) Similarly, keep the same routine for meals. Eat at the same times during the week and on weekends and holidays.

3) Find a good relaxation CD and use it daily, every day.

4) Keep a Migraine diary to be check for triggers that you may encounter on weekends. If you need a diary, you can download a free diary workbook from our article Your Migraine and Headache Diary.

Hope this helps,

Teri

Kathy, I have the same problem, I try not to break my normal routine, which means  I try to wake up early , may be 1 hour later tHAN ON THE WEEKDAYS , also workout for about an 1 hour in the morning, this helps a lot.

Hi Kathy,

I understand!!  I just talked to my doctor today about this, he mentioned his concern regarding "let down" headaches and advised me to keep well hydrated, rest, and excercise.  Frankly I don't understand why we have these, when we are not under as much stress.  So,..... hope this helps and good luck!

My daughter suffers from this too and I make her take a long hot shower, then go lay down in a dark room for about 2 hours and listen to soothing music. Most of the time she ends up falling asleep, sometimes she doesn't but she almost always feels better.
