You can't.  I have an acute cervicogenic headache likely caused from a pinched occipital nerve.  I also have UHC and went to a Pain Clinic expecting to get a nerve block to relieve the inflammation and pain.  According to my doctor, UHC does not cover this procedure, stating that it is experimental.  He indicated that other insurances cover the procedure.  They have fought UHC, even on a national level, with no luck.  I googled "occipital nerve block united heatlhcare" and found their policy on these blocks.  They just don't do it.  I am having difficulty doing my job and my situation is new.  I can't imagine those who are looking for relief of a chronic situation and can't get it.  I just took my first dose of oral prednisone, and I'm praying it works.  I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't.  Good luck in getting the relief you need.
