Q: Barometric Pressure migraines. Help...PLEASE!!!!

Hello, I have suffered from occasional migraines for 20 yreas. I'm just now beggining to notice the pattern, that it happens often with barometric pressure changes in the weather, and when flying. What medications have been thus far proven to best help these types of dibilitating headaches?      Thank-you. Cheryl.

Hi C.C.,

When working to identify triggers, such as changes in barometric pressure or flying, one of the best tools is a good Migraine diary. Knowing what your triggers, and how to manage them, is a very important part of Migraine management and prevention plan. You can read more about this and download a free diary workbook in our article Your Migraine and Headache Diary.

Migraines Often Triggered By Change In the Weather has good information in it, as does this question in our Ask the Clinician section: Preventing Migraines triggered by weather changes and flying?

Good luck

Nancy
