Q: Why do these things happen?

I'm almost 29 and have suffered from migraines since the age of 4. Although I can now handle them better, some of the few persistant symtoms have not changed. Whatever side of my head it happens to be on, my eye, temple, and the length of my jugular aches along my neck. But my eye actually feels swollen. Can anyone tell me what they know about this please?

tanya,

I'm not sure exactly what it is you want to know. Migraine is a genetic neurological disease,a nd Migraine attacks can have a multitude of symptoms that vary widely from one person to the next.

A Migraine attack causes the trigeminal nerve to become inflamed, and that may be what's causing some of your symptoms. If you look at where the branches of the trigeminal nerve lie, you can see why some symptoms can occur. Take a look at Pathways of Migraine.

All of this said, new symptoms should ALWAYS be discussed with our doctors to be sure that they are indeed Migraine related and not something else.

Please see your doctor and keep me posted on how you're doing? If you have other questions after seeing your doctor, you now where to find us. Cool

Welcome again,

Teri
