Q: I have a child with a complicated health history recently diagnosed with migraines

I have a 10 year old child with a complicated health history which includes Hydrocephalus with a Lumbar Atrial Shunt placement as well as Arnold Chiari Malformation (decompressed 3 years ago). My question is about migraines and seizure activity. Recently he has been experiencing episodes of pauses in animation in which he will stop and "freeze" regardless of what he is doing and stay that way until he is shaken, these episodes will last for well over 5 minutes and are followed by confusion and often several of the episodes consecutively. In the past week he has began walking while in this state of unconsiousness and will continue walking until he either runs into something or is "shaken" out of it. His Neurologist has diagnosed this as migraines, Is there a specific type of migraine that may include this type of activity? Are there certain medications that are effective for the treatment of this type of migraine?
