How likely or common is it for low potassium levels to trigger migraines?  Even my primary is asking this question.  This was the 2nd time my potassium levels have been pretty low.

Chris,

I'm not finding anything in the literature about potassium levels specifically as a Migraine trigger. However, anything that messes with our overall health can certainly make us more susceptible to other triggers, triggers that might not be strong enough to precipitate a Migraine otherwise.

Thanks Teri, my primary thought so, but my neurologist has not heard of a connection.  But as we know, there's a whole lot more research out there that needs to be done.  I'm just making sure that most of the foods I'm getting right now are potassium-rich and are tolerable.
