All my life I have sufferred from migraines.  However, the last two years they became so horrible I had no choice but to go to the ER.  I had a migraine that wouldn't go away for weeks.  They did a CT scan and found a spot on my brain that I should be concerned about.  So I went to my family doctor, after convincing him to order a MRI, they found out that I have a Pineal Cyst.  I asked my doctor if this is why my migraines are getting worse and he said it could be but wasn't sure, with the right meds it would be taken care of.  So for 1 year I was a lab rat, but on several different meds, anything that has the side effect "headache" and I am sure to get it.  Once a month I get a migraine that last about 10 days, has nothing to do with my menstrual cycle because I don't have them.  Nothing takes away the pain, except for when I go to the ER for a shot of narcotics.  I only been there twice, I hate having to rely on heavy pain killers.  My point is this, my last time there, the ER doctor told me that something was causing me to have these migraines for so long.  Everyone is different, some say ohhh yeah the cyst do cause migraines and others say they don't, but something is causing them.  If it is they cyst wouldn't you like to know and have it taken care of?    My family doctor finally after begging him to refer me to a nerologist has.  I am very nervous.  Don't listen to everything you read on the internet and just go see a doctor.    Another thing, in June I started taking Topamax, instead of having several migraines daily I now have only several monthly with that medicine.  I like being on Topamax.  Go talk to your doctor there is so much he or she can do for you, and it wouldn't hurt you to find out your options.
