Q: Going on 7 days

Hi,

My name is Matt I am a healthy 27yr old who has had migraines since the age of 14. Migraines run in my family however this is the 7th day of my worst migraine ever. I went to see my Dr on Thursday and well see gave me Oxicodone and a Nosal spray called Migranal. Since thursday I have taken 15 oxys and the migrainal only seems to make the pain worse. I have taken many of the migraine meds out there right now including but not limited to Imitrax, topimax and some others that i cant think of right now along with a ice compress sleeping for the last 4 days and nothing seems to work. I cant bare to look at the screen as i type this and i am losing hope what do you suggest that i try or do?? Please forgive me if i have misspelled anything.

Matt,

You need to get this Migraine aborted - NOW! Staying in this state, increases your risk for stroke. Anything over 72 hours, with less then a 4 hour break in pain is called Status Migrainous.

Please seek medical attention. Maybe going to the ER would be your best bet, if your doctor does  not do any IV therapy. The ER can give you IV's of things your doctor may not have, such as IV magnesium, Toradol, among others.

Good Luck! Please keep us posted!

I have been fighting with a 14'er and today I saw my doc for the occipital nerve block treatment. I'm not a 100%, but I am sitting up and typing on the computer. It's an improvement. I have also found that Maxalt Melts work better for me than Imitrex. I get a lot of side effects from Imitrex. I really hope you feel better soon!!
