Q: Is there a link between low pressure weather systems and migraines?

I live in the midwest and have terrible daily migraines.  Does anyone know if there is any correlation between low/high pressure weather systems and migraines?  Today it is snowing (low pressure) and it is the first day in weeks that I don't have a migraine.  Is there any place in the country where migraines are less prevelant?  Thank you.

I am very sensitive to change in weather and always have a migraine on a low preassure day. Living in California we don't get too many and I am thankful for that. Guess you need to do some traveling so see how you do. I am so sorry you have daily migraines, I am in the middle of a 7 day long migraine and don't know how I could stand this all the time. Do some research, I know for sure my migraines are worse with the weather changing but find some facts and see what you can do. I am taking charge of my migraines this year, don't care how bad they are they will NOT get me on my knees. Good luck

I live in Ottawa Ontario and suffer frequently with Migraines.  I'm currently on week 3 of daily migraines.  I tend to believe its weather related.  When I travel to Mexico every Winter for two weeks, I am Migraine free for the entire two weeks.  I mentioned it to my Doctor and she said I was the first one to mention it to her.  I've been doing this for approx. 8 years and the same thing happens every year.  I look very forward to my Mexican vacations!

I live in Indiana, and low fronts always are a trigger for me.  When I mentioned it to my nero, he said it can be a trigger for many migraine suffers...   On those days I try to brace myself by taking a lower pain control med, medrin, to keep the pain at bay so that I can work and function without taking imitrex.... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... But I have started to become a weather watcher.
