Q: Migranes?

I have always had trouble with minor headaches, but in the last month they have been terrible. I was treated for sinus infection as that is what htey thought, but today I saw an ENT with a ct scan and a scope up the nose and he said he does not think it is siuns, but migrane.

I have read aobut migranes but mine are not one sided, it is on top of my head and side and feels like my head is going to blow off.  I coudl feel one coming on about 2 hours ago, then I got very very tired, chilly and it hurt above my eyes, on my check bones and it felt tingly aorund my mouth and then the head ache hit, it was unbareable and led me to tears.

I took a migrane excedrin and it help some, I still have a headache and it alwasy feels like a tight band aorund my head.  I also took my blood pressrue and it was high but I am sure it was cause i was in pain.

I have had a lot of stress lately but have before too.

I still think it is sinus, have ear pressure, teeth hurt, but the dr said migrane can do all of that too.

I loooked on one site and Dr. ELliott at virgina mason in seattle was reccomned, anyone seen him?

Do you that have migranes do my symptoms soudn like that.

I did just start remicade about 4 months ago, it is an iv med for Rheumatoid.

I also know that i seem to get bad stiff neck when this happens also.

Thank you for any help in this,

Hi desparte,

In many cases, more than 90% in fact, what we think are "sinus headaches" may really be Migraines. For more information on this, please take a look at Sinuses Giving You a Headache? It's Probably a Migraine.

For purposes of treatment, learning about your Migraines, being able to get care if you're away from home, etc., it is important to have a correct diagnosis. There really are so many different type of Migraines and headaches it can be a bit confusing. You can read more about this in The Type of Migraine Does Matter.

I hope this helps,

Nancy
