Q: Before Migraine attack I had a throbbing pain in my lower back???? Anyone experience this?

On the weekend I had one heck of a Migraine....blood pressure went through the roof, both upper and lower, pulse was really fast; however, before the attack began I experienced a throbbing pain in my lower back.  This has happened before, but not for a long time.  Could it be Migraine Aura?  Could it be something else?  I just don't know.  I don't have a new neurologist in New Brunswick Canada yet and apparently there is a very long waiting list to find one, so I'm stuck with my GP.

Any thoughts on this?  A few years ago I had a kidney stone removed.  We believe it was caused from my being on Topamax for about four years.  I no longer take this medication.  I guess I'm just grasping at straws at this point.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Hi HeyPaula,

Typcially, Migraine with aura - aura phase sypmtoms include visual  has along with the headache phase, an aura phase which consists of visual flahes of light, or wavy lines/spots, or even partial loss of sight, to name a few. Other symptoms of the aura phase can include sensitivity to noise and light, dizziness and confusion.

Some people have experienced muslce aches with a Migraine attack, but if these sypmtoms are longer, or new please discuss them with your doctor. Continue reading this article to learn more about Migraine attacks and their four phases: Anatomy of a Migraine.

Good luck

Nancy

No I have never experienced this. It's nice to have an early indicator, tho, when you're about to have one. I always know cause my vision becomes distorted.
