I have SEVERE migraines since I was 8 years old...have tried everything except Botox and Accupunture. I saw somewhere that in Florida they have "charity cases". I am unable to work so I have no money for anything and would like to try the Botox for severe migraines. Does anyone know where in Florida they offer this? I appreciate your assistance very much. I've had a complete hysterectomy 15 years ago because they thought it was hormonal, I went into the hospital for DHE and after released gave myself DHE shots, did food journal many times, did boifeedback, did allergy journals, taken every antidepresent there is, huge dose daily of Neurontin, Demerol pills & IM, Stadol IM, Mellatonin, Fiorinal and Fioricet, Depakote, Topamax, Imitrex (both kinds), Zomig 5 mg (all 3 kinds), physical therapy, oxygen therapy, chiropractic therapy and on and on. I'm having trouble again finding charity place in Florida and Florida is where I've always wanted to live...please help me if anyone knows. I can't even work. Thank you!!!!

I'm so sorry you're in such a tough situation. Unfortunately, we can't keep track of free and low-cost places for medical care. The best source of such information would probably be the office of the Deparment of Health and Human Services in whichever Florida county you live.

One thing I'd like to tell you to give you more hope is that Botix isn't the only option you have left. There are now over 100 medications and supplements that can be used for Migraine and headache prevention. The frustration of trying to find what works for us can make it seem as if we've tried it all, but with so many possible preventives, it's literally impossible to have tried them all. See Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up! for more information.

Please keep us posted on how you're doing?

Good luck,

Teri
