Kim,

Migraine symptoms can change over time. You need to discuss these new symptoms with your doctor. Whenever symptoms change, we need to check with our doctors to be sure they ARE Migraine and not something else that may need treatment.

Actually, you also need to have a big discussion with him about Migraine prevention. Anyone who has more than three Migraines a month needs to be taking something for prevention. There's growing evidence that Migraine is a progressive brain disease. A recent study showed that Migraines can cause brain damage, and that people with three or more Migraines a month are more susceptible to this damage. For more information, see Is Migraine a Progressive Brain Disease? and Yes, Migraines Can Cause Brain Damage.

Please see your doctor soon?

Teri

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
