Q: Dr. lane in Englewood Colorado

Has anyone gone to Doc Lane in Englewood Colorado.  My primary Doc loves the fact that I have joined this group and am researching to find other ways to handle my headaches.  The only way I get rid of them now is percocet and I know that should not be a long term thing.  He wants me to get off those and try something else.  After reading this site (which I love) I think I will try a migraine Doc in Englewood Colorado.  It can be a small world out there so maybe others on this site have gone to see her.  I read and feel the pain of others who try to work with a migraine.  That was so hard for me as I could not remember what they wanted me to do.  Then of course i was labeled as 'stupid' which I am not but on percocet....yes I am in a fog.  I do think there are two triggers for me.  One is a low pressure and the other is TMJ.  My teeth are so touchy I am having a root canal done on all of them.  I have had so many root canals over the years that I only have 5 left to go.  That would rule the 'teeth' as  causing them.  My headaches started when we moved to Colorado and I do think the altitude does have something to do with it as those the big L on the weather map means ice bag to me.  When I can't stop the pain with percocet I do go in for a demoral shot and that makes me go into a deep sleep which always helps.  But then the Doc doesn't like it when I get to many of those too.  One Doc told me to see a shrink........they get so tired of us 'headache' people, but they should be on this side for just a week.  So anyone out there who has seen this Doc Lane in Englewood please let me know.  Thanks, and this site is a life saver for me. Denise

Hi Denise,

Although I don't have any personal experience with Dr. Lane, she is on our patient recommended Migraine specialist list.

Percocet, which is acetaminophen and oxycodone, if taken more than two to three days a week, may lead to Medication Overuse Headache (MOH). No preventive medicationon earth will work if you have MOH. Read our article, Medication Overuse Headache When the Rememdy Backfires for more information.

Trigger identification and management is another important part of a Migraine treatment plan. Weather and dental work are a few Migraine triggers. Others may include chocolate, dehydration, and changes in sleeping patterns. A Migraine diary is a great tool to keep track of your Migraine activity and see what things are working to reduce them. Our Migraine diary can be found HERE. And take a look at our Migraine Trigger section located HERE.

Good luck

Nancy
