Migraines worsened with temperature change ? (not weather)
My daughter became very cold today snorkeling afterwards she started to get a bad headache that later turned into a migraine. She wanted to take a hot bath when she got home. Her migraine became much, much worse shortly after her bath. Can going from cold (body temperature) to a hot bath make migraine much worse?
I am not certain if going from the cold to the heat can trigger a migraine, but I know that one of my triggers is elevated body temperature. I can't take baths that are very hot, and I can't stand hot tubs. Also, if I ever run a fever, I am in big trouble, usually ending up at the ER for IV meds. This my experience with elevated body temp. Migraines are so unexplainable at times, and it could be that for your daughter, a trigger is drastic changes in body temperature. I hope this helps somewhat.

Doctors for years have theorized that migraines are associated with abnormal body core temperatures. The thought is that vessels in the brain become dilated and diffuse causing blood to exert pressure on the brain creating the auras and pain that many migraine sufferers exhibit. Low or high body core temperatures are a contributing factor. If you can thermoregulate (normalize) body core temperature many symptoms including migraines may simply disappear or be significantly reduced in both severity and frequency. Currently the standard of care includes some form of medicated treatment protocol that may include over-the-counter and prescription medications, and/or hormone treatment therapies. These all carry risks and sometimes significant cost and side effects and may not be effective in treating the condition.
Luckily, today there is a new non-invasive technology that will rapidly regulate body core temperature without the use of medications, hormones, or other invasive methods. The device and the technology powering the device is sold by a company called AVACEN. The device is multi-patented, has been cleared for distribution by the FDA, and is supported by clinical studies and performance lab tests.

I've had severe migraines weekly for 20 years and have tried everything. I heard about a migraine study being conducted in Socal using this device, so I applied. I've used this device 3x per week for 3 weeks and my migraines are now half as intense and once or twice per month. The study is directed at establishing a clinical link between low temp and migraines along with the effectiveness of this new non-invasive type of treatment. So far, this treatment has worked for me.
For more info. on migraines & temperature go to:

They offer a thyroid treatment that treats low temperature and migraines, but I feel the new treatment I am now taking is more effective.

I've never heard this theory. You know a lot about this. Do you have Migraines. Do you work for the company?
