Q: Tteatment and prevention of Hemiplegic Migraines

What are prevention options for hemiplegic migraines? How would I find a specialist for H. migraines in Michigan?

Hi llona,

 

Some preventive treatments for Hemiplegic Migraine are lamictal                acetazolimide (diamox) and topamax and especially verapamil seems to work well for some people.

 

 To find a Migraine specialist who has experience treating people with Hemiplegic Migraine, I would make some phone calls to our list of patient recommended specialists in MI.  You can find that list HERE.
