Aileen,

Numbness, tingling, and even motor weakness or one-sided paralysis can be symptoms of Migraine. You and your neighbor can find information about the four possible phases of a Migraine attack asd their potential symptoms in Anatomy of a Migraine.

It's important to distinguish between numbness and weakness or paralysis. If your neighbor is experiencing numbness, that's one thing, but if her left side is actually weak that would indicate hemiplegic Migraine, and you can read more about that in Hemiplegic Migraine - The Basics.

It's relatively rare, but in some cases, a Migraine can cause a stroke.

All of us who have Migraine are at some increased risk of cardiovascular events including stroke and heart attack. Here's some information on those increased risks:

Has your neighbor seen her doctor about this Migraine? If not, she need to do so. It's important to see our doctors when we have "the worst Migraine ever" or when our symptoms change because we need to be sure that there's nothing else going on.

If her doctor isn't able to help, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

I hope this information is helpful. Please keep me posted?

Welcome again,
