Q: Aura with hot flashes but no headache- is this still a migraine?

I've been experiencing migraines with auras for 6 years but they have changed dramatically over the past year. I still experience an aura but it is followed by intense hot flashes, dizziness, confusion and nausea yet no headache (this is not menopause or period-related. I am 24 and take the birth control pill continuously so that I do not get a period). The visual disturbances I experience are also more disturbing.  I will often get a brief blinding flash of light in my left eye and lose control of my right hand (lasts only a few seconds).  Is this still a migraine? Should I be worried by this change? Thanks for your help!

Hi 2lroberts,

It could be a Migraine, but it could be other conditions too. Only a doctor can help you with this. Any time we have changes in our Migraine symptoms it is important to discuss them with our doctors.

Good luck and do call your doctor.
