Q: My wife (now 46) started to have the symtoms associated with migraines.

However, very seldom has headachs that 'hurt'. The sensation she feels is a 'fullness' at the top of her head now and again.

Her quality of life has severally been diminished due to other issues she was experiencing prior to headache related issues. She is dealing with disabling dizziness triggered by bright or flickering lights on an ongoing daily basis. She has recently given up driving because of this and is now homebound. She also suffers from Asthma, many allergies, Raynaud's syndrome, mild narcolepsy. Doctors that we have seen prescribe migraine meds for the headache feeling. But the related issues are sending her into a mild depression. Any suggestions on medication requests that I can talk to our doctors about. Or treatment centers in MI that we may seek help from. So far, the doctors that we have seen say to take the meds only at the approach of a full blown headache (which she rarely gets). The symptoms are really causing the whole family a great deal of stress.

Hi Roger,

I'm so sorry to hear your wife is suffering. It sounds like what she needs is an accurate diagnosis. I'm not sure what type of doctor she should given all her other conditions, but it wouldn't hurt to see a Migraine specialist. We do have some wonderful doctors listed on our patient recommended Migraine specialist list. Is Michigan your home state? I know a woman who just came back from seeing Dr. Saper and was very happy with her treatment there.
