I started getting generic Imitrex in January.  I live in California.  You might want to double check with your pharmacy. What I get is made by Dr. Reddy's and called by the generic name Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets, 100mg.

Hope this helps.

Hi, PCPerson,

I've been trying to reach someone at the FDA for "official" details on this. Our members have reported getting generic sumatriptan injections and tablets. The Nasal Spray is definitely not available in generic form as the patent on it has not expired yet.

Your best bet might be to check with your pharmacy.

I received my first generic in January and so far I am not happy with it. I have used it three times and find it takes twice as long for it to start to work. Instead of relieveing my migraine in one hour it takes two hours to get any relief and about four hours before I really start to feel good again. I am going back to the orginal in which I felt good in about two hours.
