Generic Imitrex at Walgreens here, too!

I mainly get migraines when I get a tad hungry (or even right before...

02/09/09

I've heard from several other states, and Walgreens here in Chula Vista, CA does have the generic for Imitrex!

I'm very, very glad for everyone, but still I love my Maxalt MLT that melts in your mouth which is now on my insurance co's formulary and I get it for $20/month.

I can take it with me and take it at the first sign of a migraine without looking for a drink to wash it down.  It's good because I have always gotten headaches if I get just a little hungry which happens often and sometimes I forget to eat real, real often.  They say I have a very overactive system.

I break Maxalt MLT in half and it works with no sleepiness and I have twice as many.  I hope it goes generic soon also.

PCPerson,

Thanks for the Imitrex update!

I just checked the FDA site for info on Maxalt-MLT. The patent doesn't expire until 2012, so it will be a while before we see generic.

I was just told about it too.  But, I was also told it was about $25.00 more for my co-pay portion.  I am confused, thought generic was cheaper.    ??
