Hi linda,
One of the most important things is to get an accurate diagnosis. To simplify matters and make it easier for people to get information and treatment, doctors usually go by the gold standard for diagnosis, the International Headache Society's International Classification of Headache Disorders, 2nd Edition (ICHD-II). Under ICHD-II, there is no diagnosis of "ocular Migraine," but may Migraine with aura may be closer. Take a look at Ocular, Optical, and Ophthalmic Migraines when you get a minute, then you can continue to read the importance of a correct diagnosis in The Type of Migraine Does Matter.
Only after an accurate diagnosis will a doctor be able to determine if there is something to be concerned about. However, I can tell you that people who have Migraine with aura are at an increased risk for stroke. For more information, read

I hope this helps,
Nancy
