Q: need help with blood pressure medication that are good for people with migranes

I am 63 year old female taking anti-depressent Lexapro, cholesteral lowering drug (Lipitor), thyroid replacement (synthroid), and my problem is a blood pressure medication that is good for migraine suffers. I was taking Calan Sr for over 20 years until swelling started in my legs and feet. We are trying new meds but I don't know if I can take the headaches and the sweating I am experiencing with 4 different types so far. Can you give me any suggestions? I would really appreciate any help you can give me.

Sorry you're having so much trouble. You didn't say what new meds you're taking, but there are many, many medications that can both control blood pressure and help prevent Migraines. You can find a list of these medications in Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up!.

For me Inderal works nicely? But we are all different. My ankles and feet do swell a bit in the summer sun from the med but it goes away when the summer ends. Have you looked up any on WebMd.com?
