Toradol (ketorolac) is an NSAID, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug.   NSAIDs work by reducing prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are not hormones. They are hormone-LIKE substances related to a wide range of body functions such as contraction and relaxation of smooth muscles, control of inflammation, control of blood puressure, and other functions.   Hope this helps, Teri
