Q: I get approximately 3 to 4 migrane headaches a week and take maxalt. How do you get rid of them?

I take maxalt when I feel the onset of a headache.  It does relieve the headache over time, but I get on average three or four headaches a week.  I am an at home mom taking care of four small children ages 9 mo through 4 yrs.  I have been to several doctors and tried various medications, of which non seem to do the job.  Any suggestions.

Melissa,

With the number of Migraines you're experiencing, you are defitnitely a candidate for preventive therapies. There are many, many of them available. (See Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up!)

It sounds like it's time for you to see a Migraine specialist. Take a look at:

Hope this helps!
