Q: Migraine of nubness only; no headache, treatment? Ichy feeling part of it?

The left side of my face goes numb; have been through all sorts of test. Not a stroke, as first diagnosed. Expert said no stroke, just a migraine. He suggested I use a product called magnisium citrate (not sure of my spelling). My pharmacist said that is a laxitive. Now, I am wanting to know if I am haveing migraines, is it possible that an ichy feeling, usually come when I am in bed. It feels like I am in bed with iching powder. I have showered before bed; I change pillow cases, changed night gown. Nothing seem to help. Prevents sleep. Oh, yes, it usually starts on the head and works down to shoulders.Very distresing.

Hi Jewell,

Magneiusm is a dietary supplementary to often used as a Migraine prevention drug. While taking magnesium adding calcium is a good idea because alone it may cause some potential unwanted side effects.

There is a condition called cutaneous allodynia and it seems up close to 69% of Migraineurs suffer from this condition. I hope you find these two articles helpful:  Headaches linked to painful skin sensations

Migraine with skin sensitivity eased by older drug

A Migraine specialist may be the doctor to see now. He/she are the experts treating patient with Migraines and headache disorders, while neurologists treat so many conditions it is hard for them to be experts in any one area. See our list of patient recommended specialists HERE.

Good luck

Nancy
