MLEBeau,
I too have migraines that are worse since my hysterectomy. Seems like each year they get worse. Originally I was taking hormone replacement but they had no effect on lowering the migraines. The migraines were about the same and maybe a little worse with them. I hope this kind of makes you feel better to know your not the only one.

Before my hysterectomy I had a migraine once a month, after I had them every day for months. I went to a neurologist and was put on Inderal as a preventive along with Fioricet and Imitrex to use as needed. I also used a hormone patch and tried different strengths. I have gone through migraines every other day to one a week and now after twelve years post surgery I can go several weeks without a migraine. I hope this doesn't scare you as everyone is different but the first two years were hell for me then slowly got better. I thought I was the only one with this problem until I found this site and found I am not alone.
I must tell you" I began suffering with migraines severly, Im afrai to go anywhere without Imitrex" They are so bad I cannot do anything" They have disrupted my life in ways I never thought possible, I recently started on a medication, called Topamax, I was always taking Imitrex , before this Wonderful drug Topamax, And I have to say" Its not just with your monthly times either, I thought that too, i thought they would stop" They got worse" I got a very nice, Nurse who had worked with Migraine Doctors, And she suggested I start Topamax, It had to be better than putting all that Imitrex in my system" She was Rigjht, Now Instead Of taking Imitrex * times a month for the most severe migraines, Im way down on headaches and i have her to Thank for it, After all the doctors" She made the big difference" a nurse" i want to Thank her' And i hope you read this" Try It" I had the most severe type there is" It Worked' Please try it for you" Thank-you' Tami
