Q: Migraine/seizures/panic attacks?

My husband has suffered with migrains for over 28 years.  Six years ago, his right hand started having tremors, and he had other symptoms of a seizure, with tingling of the face, loss of motor skills during the attack, and the metalic taste afterwards.  He tremored almost constantly for over 3 months in the beginning.  He has had every test all of the doctors can think of, and they are all normal.  The last Doctor wanted to diagnose him with panic attacks, which is almost laughable if you knew my husband!  We are at a loss as to what to do next.  He does have a headache of some sort 24/7.  His liver function was elavated and he saw a hemotologist/ongologist, and again, normal.  The last Neuro also put him on a medicine that was supposed to be great for migrains and seizures, and made both of them worse.

dholcomb65,

Wow. I'm sorry you're going through all of this. Wish I could help, but this is a question that can only be addressed by a doctor who can review your husband's and his family's medical history, discuss your husband's symptoms, and conduct a complete examination. Nobody can diagnose via the Internet.

The best suggestion I can offer is, given his long history of Migraines, get him to a good Migraine specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

Please, keep me posted on how he's doing?

Welcome again,

Teri

Been there already.  This last "doctor" was thru a Headache and Migraine center.  But since the test results are always normal, he almost refuses to try anything that requires him to think outside the box.  Self-diagnosis is where we are now - again.  The reply that Tonya gave made me realize that I did have to take my husband to the ER about 5 months ago with extreme back pain.  Even a direct shot in the hip didn't phase it at all.  I am to the point of having him put on disability since he can not function in a regular job anymore.  Looking forward to the test results, Tonya!

I have had migraines for as long as I can remember. I am 22 years old now and remember having migraines when I was 7. My family members have said they believe I have had them before 7. A few years ago I started having tingling in my right hand and have now been diagnosed as having seizures. I have had tests run and everything has shown nothing. I am now seeing a ear nose and throat doctor for an ear pressure pain and vertigo feelings. They do not seem hopeful that the results will come back with anything but they ran an ENG anyways just last week.

Recently I have been having more and more tremors that have gone into my legs. It starts with pain in my lower back. I lose movement in my legs and arms during the attack and they can last up to hours. I have also been frustrated with not being able to find any medications that will help my seizures or my migraines.

I will keep in touch if I find out any more information from the ENG or the new neurologist I am trying to get into now. Good luck and keep me posted
