This past week I had something strange happen. I usually get optical auras while I have a migraine. Twice this past week, the first time being while I had in my contacts, and the second I had glasses on. I felt like I was looking through heat waves, or gas vapors just along the outter rim of my vision. I had no pain ( although I do have a headache today) Is this a normal part of migrains ( i have never experanced this before) or should I have it checked furhter? Thanks Tammy

Hi Tammy,
First let me say that anytime we have new or different symptoms that differ from our typical Migraine patterns it is important to discuss them with our doctor.
Now having said that, there are a few types of Migraine called typical aura with non-migraine headache and typical aura without headache, BUT, you should be checked out with your doctor to make sure this isn't anything more serious.
