An important meeting, headache starting, now what?

I'm a heart patient and can't take the regular meds that stop the predome or actual headach, I know when my vision gets blurry &/or cloudy, the next step is diuresis, what in the world can I take during this time. I was on Imitrex when I had my MI.  Firoinal, is taken early and at a higher dose, (prescribed by a physician), but it makes me even more nausiated then what the headache causes. Any suggestion of what other regime can be taken, I can't go to sleep during the meeting, and I already have dark, dark glasses that I wear because of the lights.

I'm looking forward to the meeting but nervous about a headache that is already starting to show signs of showing up.

Any advise about traveling & headaches?

Hi there!

Unfortunatly, we cannot give you medical advice, because we are not medical professionals.  Your best bet would be to talk to your doctor and try to work out a treatment plan that will work with your current medical needs.

Seeing a Migraine Specialist is always a good idea. You can see our patient recommended list HERE

Have you ever kept a Migraine and headache diary? We have a great one here on the site you can download, just click HERE. This diary is also a great place to track your triggers. Not getting enough sleep, weather changes and some foods may be a trigger for some. See all our information on triggers HERE.

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
