I'm unable to take any of the newer drugs for migraine because they contradiction s because of my heart condition.  I don't know how to convince the insurance company that I'm stable with the meds I'm on, they want to send me to a Neuro, seems like a waste of time and $ to see one, and I don't want to start some other meds ( I have many allergies), but they usually want to "try" something to see what happens.  Any suggestions on how I can convince my insurance company (I'm being forced into seeing a Neuro) and doctor how I feel?   Thanks for your input and God bless

My first real experience with chronic head pain...

Saturday, January 03, 2009

Hi oldandgraying,

Forgive me, I am a bit confused. Why do you need to see a neurologist if the medication you are on is working with the doctor who is prescribing it for you? Is the insurance company changing a policy? If you can provide me with a bit more information, I could try and help.

Thanks

Nancy

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
