My then 26 year old son was hospitalized several years ago with stroke-like symptoms. In retrospect, it seems he had a 3 week migraine with 2 acute episodes 10 days apart, each lasting about 24 hours. He had vomiting, transient unilateral numbness, agitation and, during the 2nd acute episode, a deterioration of cognitive function. He realized later that he'd been without peripheral vision for the full 3 weeks. At the onset he mentioned that he had a wisdom tooth coming in very rapidly. I asked several dentist acquaintances if the tooth could trigger migraine. The consulting neurologist laughed out loud at me when I posed the question. No medical professional would give my theory credence. The neurologist even told me this couldn't be migraine until the CT scan and spinal tap were negative and his function suddenly returned to normal. My son was given Topamax and a calcium channel blocker but chose to not take them. He has had no other episodes. There is family history.
