Q: I will be getting my first depakote infusion in a day or two, what can I expect as far as possible side effects. I'm suppose to get 750ml over 35 min.
Thanks, very nervous....
Is this a procedure I can do alone, or would you suggest a driver. This is to hopefully break my migraine cycle, I would love to hear any all tips and advice.
Thank you!

Since you've not had this type of infusion before, I suggest that you take someone with you to be sure you get home. Depakote is probably unlikely to impact your ability to drive, but you just can't be sure of that, and really, we shouldn't drive when we have a Migraine anyway. Even though we can't always tell, Migraines do impact and slow our reactions.
You may well not experience any side effects, but that's something nobody can predict, and each person will differ as to what they experience if they do have side effects. You can find information, including possible side effects in our profile - Depakote .
I hope the infusion works well for you. Please let me know?
Welcome again,
Teri
