Experiencing off and on again sensations of numbness and sense of detachment from self--normal?to do

For the past week have had off and on again migraine headache pain with something new.  Oh, joy!!  I am experiecing numbness in my left side of face, detached feelings from myself, an almost drunkeness stupor with some word slurring.  Went to local dr. , got maxalt and toradol shot.  It did not stop this.  Is this normal?

I too have had the numbness, with a warming sensation in my entire body, but mostly my legs.  I also had the word slurring and a "weird" feeling off/on for four days now.  Doctors think it's a basilar migraine which is new to me.  I have had "classic" migraines for 18 years now, so this is totally new to me as well.  Friday I am going for more tests to rule out the "major" things that could be wrong with me, but this seems pretty major considering I've missed 3 days of work and have to have someone help me take care of my children.
