Hello Bob!  While stress can trigger an episode, it isn't the root cause of migraines.  Some of the absolutely worst days of my life(such as family calamity) I did not experience migraine.  My 2 worst migraines occured on days that started out with me in a great mood and feeling wonderful!!  Migraines can be unpredictable, but each of us has a unique set of triggers that we have to experiment with to adjust for, i.e - sunlight - I don't even go to the mailbox without sunglasses!!  The stress trigger, of course, is more complicated than that - good luck in the future.
