Hi,

Like all pain meds, I think the frequency of use is key. I took it while I was pregnant so I lived with the pain until I just couldn't anymore and then took Fioricet. It worked for me but made me very drowsy. Be careful until you know the effect on you. I felt overall it did it's job but it's not meant for long term use.

It depends on what you mean by "works." Fioricet can't abort a Migraine, can't stop the Migrainous process in the brain. It can't stop symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, etc.All it can do is mask the pain for a few hours.

I've used Fioricet as a rescue medication when my primary medication has failed for some reason.

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
