Shari,
-:¦:-•:*'""*:•.-:¦:-•*Welcome to MyMigraineConnection!*•-:¦:-•:*'""*:•.-:¦:-
This is definitely a good question to discuss with your doctor. If you're getting the aura, you're getting a Migraine. Migraines can occur with no headache at all. When they do, they're described as "acephalgic" or "silent." You can read more about this in Acephalgic or Silent Migraine - The Basics.
In most cases, acephalgic Migraine is treated like other forms of Migraine, usually with Migraine abortive medications. However, since your episodes are lasting an hour or less, your doctor may say that they're ending too quickly to warrant the medications. Only your doctor can really answer this.
Welcome again,

Connie,
The aura is part of the Migraine. The earlier a Migraine is treated, the better chance there is that the treatment will work well. Studies have repeatedly shown this. Many people take triptans or other Migraine medications during the aura phase. Sometimes, that can abort the Migraine before it ever gets to the headache phase.
This is definitely a discussion to have with your doctor so he or she can recommend treatment and help you determine at what point it should be used.
Teri
