Hi, Lisa,

Migraine and sleep disorders are often comorbid, which means that we can have both at the same time, but Migraine disease doesn't cause the sleep disorders, and the sleep disorders don't cuase us to have Migraine disease.

That said, sleep issues can be very common Migraine triggers, so good sleep is very important to Migraineurs. You can find more information on this in our video, Migraines, Headaches, and Sleep.

Taking Ambine CR and other sleep aids isn't considered bad as long as they're used as intended. They're intended for short-term use.

Thank you so much for the follow up.  I have been through a lot in the last two months and I'm trying to rule out things.  What would happen if you are on Ambein CR for a long period of time?  Its under doctor's orders.

Lisa,

The concern about long-term use of sleep aids such as Ambien is that they're habit forming. Also, they do nothing to address the cause of whatever sleep issues you're having.
