It's totally normal with migraine that the pain is only on one side of your head. Sometimes I feel like I wish I could just cut off half my head, or sometimes a quarter, depending on where the pain is. I think that's how ancient civilizations tried to treat migraines!   You didn't mention whether or not your doctor prescribed any rescue medications for you. Triptans are frequently prescribed (Imitrex, Relpax, Maxalt, Amerge, etc). But be careful not to overuse them so you don't start getting Medication Overuse Headaches (MOH). They suggest not more than twice a week.   If you are getting migraines frequently and the rescue medications don't work, you may want to work with your doctor about preventative medication. I wish I could link you to all the great information out there (but I don't know how!) but you can search this website for it. Best of luck. Elizabeth
