Q: How to get meds cheaper.

My son who is now 30 has had migraines since he was a small child. He currently takes the 20 mg Imitrex nasal spray. It is $110.00 for 3 doses. How can you get this med for less money. Neither he nor I can afford it but he can't live without it. We have no health insurance.                                                                            lifepeace

There are a couple of things you can do...

1) Imitrex is now generic in the injections and tablets. Your son could ask his doctor about changing to one of those forms so he can buy the generic.

2) Your son can go to www.pparx.org and see if he qualifies for the patient assistance program to get it free or at a reduced cost.

Hope this helps!
