Hi savannasommy,

This is a question your doctor and/or pharmacist are better qualifed to answer. They hopefully will know your medial history and other prescription and/or over-the-counter drugs you may be taking that may interact with each other.

Give them a call.

Good luck

Nancy

Hi. One thing I would suggest is that you make a copy of all the meds you are taking and have that with you at all times because we all know when that pain hits our mind is not what it should be.  Also if you have more than one Dr. you should list there name and purpose, such as nurologist, general pract., and so.  You should also have someone, husband, mother, sister, with a copy also.  As for the pain meds and topamax I have been given both at the same time by my nuro. so it should not be a problem.  One thing you may want to be aware of with the topamax is that in some people it can cause memory problems, if that is happening to you talk to your Dr. right away. This will stop if you stop taking the topamax. I am an EMT and that is the reason made the first couple of suggestions.  I am also a FORMER topamax patient which is why I mentioned the memory problems, they happened to me.  I hope this has helped you.
