Q: How long can a migraine aura last?

While I understand most tend to last less than an hour, is it possible for them to go on for weeks, months or longer? Thank you!

Hi kirsty 12345,

Although not often, people can experience extended aura. But having said that, this should be discussed with your doctor, especially if this is new and different from your "typical" Migraine with aura.

We do have an Ask the Clinician question that Dr. Krusz and Teri address about extended aura you may find helpful; Almost continuous aura, Migraine without headache?

Good luck
