Patricia,   There is no one answer to this. It depends on your body, how severe the hypertension is, and maybe whether it's controlled with medications.   If you're looking for preventive medications, most of them can be taken with hypertension. Some would even help treat your blood pressure as well. Kind of a "two-fer.) You can find a list of potential preventives in Migraine Preventive Medications - Too Many Options To Give Up!   The abortive medications to stop the Migraines once they start are trickier. I don't think Midrin has any blood pressure warnings, but the triptans and ergotamines both warn against taking them with UNCONTROLLED hypertension. Talk with your doctor about this. Some doctors feel they're safe and effective IF your blood pressure is well controlled with medications.   Good luck, Teri
