Hello, Shirley,   The listed side effects I found for this medication, which goes by various names including Levoxyl, are: Serious Reactions * arrhythmias * CHF * HTN * angina * pseudotumor cerebri (peds) * craniosynostosis (infants) * premature epiphyseal closure * seizures (rare)   Common Reactions * palpitations * incr. appetite * tachycardia * nervousness * tremor * weight loss * diaphoresis * diarrhea * abdominal cramps * insomnia * fever * headache * alopecia * heat intolerance * menstrual irregularities * nausea * anxiety   I don't see anything about receding gums or increased intraocular pressure, but these are serious symptoms that need to be discussed with your doctor. We cannot advise you as to whether you should continue with this medication. That advice must come from a doctor who can review your medical history and examine you.   Good luck, Teri
