Q: Should I seek medical attention if my migraines get worse?

Hello, I am 25 yeras old. I was diagnosed in November 2008 for Migraines and Tension headaches.I was prescribed with Fioricet at the time..I was ok taking them but then had to stop cause they were make me dizzy and lightheaded like i was going to pass out. Since then I havent been taking anything for them and they seem to be getting worse..Lately I have been getting a pressure, burning, and throbbing pain in the back of my head that is very painful happens mostly when I get a migraine. I get sensitivity to light and sound and most of teh time I have to lay down for the pressure to subside..I was wondering if I should go back to the doctor and have tests done incase something might be wrong.I am to the poing I dont know what to do anymore..They interfer with me so bad that I cant work, concentrate, or even do things that I would normally do..it really scares me cause my fathers side of teh family has a history or brain tumors and ansysrums. What should I do?

Hi jmorgan25,

Yes - t general rule of thumb goes like this: anytime we have a change in our Migraine pattern, or our symptoms change, or become worse or we are having the very worst head pain of our life it is time to contact the doctor.

Please contact him/her to discuss your changes, then let us know how you are ok?

Good luck

Nancy
