I have migraines with aura. Should I be concerned about delivering my baby and the risk of stroke?

Hello...

I have not yet been diagnosed with a PFO, but after reading the literature I am a little worried. I get migraine with neurological aura about 3-4 times per year.  I will be delivering a baby in September and I am very worried that a potential PFO would put me at risk of having a stroke during delivery. Does anyone know more about this?  Thank you!

Lindsey

Hi Lindseymm,

First let me apologize for not answering you sooner. Have you had your baby yet?

This is a question for your doctors to answer. If you have questions about PFO that also needs to be discussed with your medical team. Have your doctor work together for the best treatment plan for you and your baby.

We have some information on Migraine with aura and stroke risk for information purposes only.
