Q: Pineal Gland removed!

I had a pineal cyst removed almost 7 years ago... I was passing out, having seizures, and some left side paralysis. It all happened VERY quickly.

My question is have any of you had your entire gland removed like myself? If so, what problems if any have you had because of this? I know the pineal gland is responsible for producing Melatonin.

Hi Jenny B.

I haven't had any issues (that I know of!) with my pineal gland, but did find this older abstract you may find interesting; The influence of the pineal gland and Migraine.

Hopefully others will be in shortly to help you out with their experiences. Or you may want check out our discussion forum for more answers. To get there, go to the Migraine home page and look on the left hand side where you'll see a row of boxes. The Forum box is at the very bottom. Click on it and scroll down to the bottom of that page, and you will see the log-in spot. Because our forums are maintained by a third party, you'll need to register for the forum. You can use the same information you used to create your community log-in if you like. Good luck
