Morphine is FDA pregnancy category C, which means studies have shown the drug to have animal teratogenic or embryocidal effects, but there are no controlled studies in women. There may also be special considerations during specific trimesters of pregnancy.

This is something you need to discuss very carefully with your doctor. In most cases where medications are category C, the risks to the fetus are weighed against the benefits to the mother, and each case must be evaluated separately.

Good luck with this and all of your pregnancy.

Please let us know how things go?
